Two time Horse of the Year – Wise Dan

Wise Dan! The two-time Horse of the Year and Champion older Male and American Champion Turf Male! I think sometimes we forget about this absolutely amazing horse for one reason-he was a gelding!

But make no mistake, he made his mark on the horse racing world! You don’t get to be Horse of the Year TWICE, for no reason. In a time when most horses only race for a a year or two and very rarely make it to the 5 and 6 year old season, Wise Dan took it all the way to his 7yo season!

Wise Dan, two-time horse of the year was a mile specialist. That was his niche, and although he could go a bit further or a bit shorter, he loved the mile distance. In 2012-2013 he won back to back Breeder’s Cup Miles. In the 2012 edition he beat Kentucky Derby Winner, Animal Kingdom!
